Books are the greatest resource for any writer. Here are a few WoodWrite recently read and a few thoughts on each. If any of these titles pique your interest, make sure to support the site and click on the link below the description – thanks in advance!

  • Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

From the author who brought us The Martian, this novel has the dry-wit you’ve come to expect. At times hilarious, other times sorrowful, this book manages to grip you from the beginning and makes the deeply scientific relatable and understandable. WoodWrite gives this novel the WW stamp of approval!

  • Hostile Witness by Leigh Adams

WoodWrite read this book in hopes of finding a comp title for his own novel. Success! This mystery/thriller contains many similar themes of political intrigue and military coverups. A fun read that keeps you on your toes the entire time. Another WW stamp of approval.

  • A Drink Before the War by Dennis Lehane

The first of the series of private detective novels featuring characters Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro, this book should also include the city of Boston as the third character. Set in early 90s Boston, this book keeps you on the edge of your seat figuring out the real motivation behind politics and gang wars. Another WW stamp of approval!
